National Technology day may 11th

The former Prime Minister of India had graciously designated 11th May as "National Technology Day" for our nation. It was very thoughtful of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (Ministry of Science and Technology).Govt of India to have announced a nation wide celebration of the National Technology Day on 11th May every year.

It was on this date the country achieved its spectacular success in 1. The Nuclear Tests 2. Test firing of Trishul Missile and 3. The maiden test flight of HANSA - 3. Besides defense India has made giant strides in other areas like Information Technology and Satellite Launch Vehicle. Technology - all of which has put India on par with handful of the World’s most advanced nations and won for it the admiration of comity nations.

The nation particularly its youth, salutes on this day, the personalities who contributed by their shining deeds to make the nation reach great heights in the field of technology and development. National Technology Day is to encourage and enthuse young minds into research in the area o applied sciences to secure our national progress.

To bridge the technology achievements and the public we have to our facilities open to public, which will generate mass interest and which also, will be a moral booster for young scientists. Ultimately India would emerge as a scientific and technological super power in its own right with strength, solidarity and stability in the world.

14th National technology day celebration

14th National technology day celebration was conducted on the 11th May 2012 at K.J.Hospital Auditorium, Dr.Mannar Jawahar, Vice Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai was the chief guest. In connection with the same a competition for school students of Std. IX and XI were conducted in the month of February 2012. In and around Chennai students from 12 schools participated in the elocution competition in Tamil, science exhibition and Science quiz competition in English. In each item three winners were selected and the prize were distributed on during function on the national technology day celebration by the Honorable chief guest.
