K J Research Foundation (KJRF) is dedicated research organization involved in various areas of research including Fundamental research, Applied research, Biotechnology, Scintigraphic studies, Imaging studies, Drug trials, Environment, Clinical research etc. founded by Dr. K Jagadeesan, renowned Researcher, Transplant, General and Cancer Surgeon.

K.J. Research Foundation (KJRF) is the research wing of K.J.Hospital which is registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration act 1975 with registration No.120 of 1983 and recognized by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Donations to K J Research Foundation is exempted from income tax under section 35 (1) (ii) of IT act 1961. The / K.J.Research Foundation has tied up with Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research ( IGCAR ) Govt. of India, Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu for collaborative R & D programmes. It is the first of its kind between IGCAR and a centre like K.J. Hospital / K.J.Research Foundation providing excellent medical care, Medical Research and Medical Education. The research activities carried out by the foundation are multi disciplinary. Scientific papers are published in reputed medical journals and presented in National and International conferences year after year. KJRF has been Recognized by Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT) Chennai for Masters Technology programmes in Biomedical instrumentation, recognized by Anna University for conducting PhD programmes in Biophysics/Medical Physics and for Technology programmes in Industrial Biotechnology and the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai has recognized it for conducting PhD Programmes in Nephrology, Surgery and Transplantation.

It has many MoU with various institutions in India and has many research scholars and doctoral fellows to its credit. KJ Research foundation utilizes the infrastructure, clinical acumen, expertise and the facilities of KJ Hospital Postgraduate & Research Centre. Chennai, which has modern clinical laboratory facilities with all state of art equipments of the hospital are utilized by KJ Research foundation. An advanced imaging equipments including Gamma Camera with SPECT, Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI scan and other facilities like Lithotripter of the hospital are utilized by KJ Research foundation.An animal house with different strains of mice, Wistar rats, are available in the animal house attached to KJRF, being authorized to conduct experiments on animals by the Committee for the purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.A fully updated library with text books and periodicals are available round the clock. Internet facility also available to get the smooth access to national and international scientific publishing and data for our utilization.Seminar rooms and auditorium with advanced LCD projector display system are utilized by KJRF.
